Julie Deschamps – Consultant

Broad Experience

I started out within operations, working within the De Vere Hotel group and the family contract catering business. My first few years were spent learning how to manage people in an operational role, working with the everyday pressures associated with customer facing businesses. Therefore, I have a full understand of the pressures that managers face on a daily bases from my experience as an operator.

I moved into Training and Development Management when I discovered that I had a natural ability to help others to improve their performance and enhance their success. I felt a real pride in my work when I could measure my success through watching a team / individual increase productivity, stretch themselves and raise the levels of services provided.

Moving into a generalist HR role once I completed the CIPD course in 2008, enabled me to offer a broader range of skills to businesses.

I have over 20 years’ experience within the HR, Training and Development arena. Gaining my knowledge over the years in either multi sited National / Regional roles or multi-site / large single sited businesses in London.

Throughout my working career I have be fortunate enough to be exposed to organisations that believe in the value that HR bring to their business, which in turn leads to increased profits and repeat business.

Analysing a business’ HR & Training needs,aligning them to the commercial plan and putting a HR / Training strategy in place to support the commercial aims of the business.

Recruitment & Selection – able to coach and support managers with their recruitment needs from start > finish. Including being fully trained to implement and give feedback on Strength Finders & Thomas International testing.

Talent, Succession & Manpower Planning – confident and experienced in setting up, supporting and coaching managers to identify their top talent and ensure that they get the best out of their teams via a succession plan.

A qualified mediator able to support and coach managers in how to deal with conflict and ensure grievances are eliminated or kept to a minimum.

Developing training programmes, delivering and evaluating them to ensure that individuals / teams meet their full potential through classroom, onsite training and coaching. Including competency appraisals and frameworks.

Performance and Change Management – supporting managers to address low levels of performance, poor conduct or resistance to change. To help improve performance and encouraging change within the workplace by working with individuals, managers and teams.

Confident with supporting, developing and coaching managers on how to implement change and get the best out of Company Policies, & Procedures. Including managing the disciplinary process and procedures.

Restructures including Redundancies & TUPE – all business at some point will need to revisit their ways of working to ensure they keep up with competition and to grow profits. I am confident in coaching and guiding managers in these areas to ensure smooth transitions by taking the stress out of possible difficult situations.

Plain English

I really enjoy working with likeminded people who can see that by working with their people the business can grow and reach its full potential. With my operational back ground, I can provide advice and guidance in Plain English and action plans that are tailored for the needs of the business and people. I can provide a one stop solution regarding the ways of working, to help improve productivity and performance through my ability to identify training and coaching needs.

I am here to take the hassle out of Employee Relations, Recruitment, Talent and Development of people.
