We have previously informed you of the Government’s Kickstart Scheme announced in September 2020. The scheme is designed to support 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit and in danger of long term unemployment. The scheme covers 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or National Living Wage) for 25 hours a week for a total of six months plus Employers’ National Insurance contributions.
We are highlighting this opportunity again as employers can take on these new employees at any date up until 31st December 2021; for example, if an employee starts on 31st December 2021 the funding will last until 30th June 2022. So, with just six months left, it’s worth considering whether you wish to participate.
Full details of the scheme, and how to register, can be found here:

If you take on an employee under the Kickstart Scheme, you will need to do so on a specific Kickstart Programme, 6-month fixed term Contract. A template of this Contract is available to those on our Advice Line scheme.
Please do talk to us if we can help in any way, we are here to support you and discuss any pros and cons associated with the scheme.
